Keeping Tobacco Sacred PSA
Media Center - Video

This PSA Video focuses on the importance of sacred tobacco use in Native culture as opposed to the dangers of commercial tobacco use in our ceremonies.  The group worked with Carla Rae, of "Imprint" and PBS’ Network American Experience "WE SHALL REMAIN: Trail of Tears" fame, to produce and release "Keeping Tobacco Sacred. Carla Rae enlisted the aid of  longtime friends, award winning director, producer, cinematographer and editor, John Foutz and formidable native actor/spokesperson John E. Scott-Richardson, a voice for the North Carolina Tribal Tobacco Awareness programs.  The PSA was funded by the National Native Network through a grant from the Centers for Disease Control’s Office on Smoking and Health.
